New Hampton, IA – SOYBEANS

We had very good yields, this plot was planted April 14th, and we even lost some stand. The crop scouts did stand counts in May and we had between 80,000- 90,000 population on most of the varieties, so we decided it was good enough to keep. There were some Xtend beans in the plot, that unfortunately got some Enlist on them, and we had to replant. We replanted those with Alloy 21E34 and you can see from the same variety planted in April (#2), compared to the replants on June 6th, (#3,4,5,7), there was almost 20 bushels yield difference. I have been recommending planting beans first, and there is some Iowa State data showing you should plant beans before April 20th, and then after April 20thswitch to corn.

A trial of our Emergence-Z product, a talc/graphite based, nutrient containing, planter box additive, increased the yield on Brevant 214EE by 3.2 bushels (#12, 13)

When funcigide was applied, we realized the first section of the field was missed. This turned out well for a visual on the impacts of disease with and without a fungicide pass.
