Becoming a Cooperative Member

Membership Built for Farmers, Backed by History

Five Star Cooperative is an agricultural cooperative with a long history in Iowa. We are owned and governed by our farmer-owners through a board of elected directors—and we’re here for the long haul.

The Power Of Partnership

When you become a member, you gain more than just access to high-quality products and services—you become part of a trusted community that puts your success first.

Becoming a member of an agricultural cooperative offers a multitude of benefits to agricultural businesses and farmers, empowering them through collective action and shared resources.

Member Benefits

Profit-Sharing & Patronage Dividends

As a member-owner, you share in the cooperative’s success. Profits are returned to co-op members through patronage dividends and equity redemption programs, ensuring that your investment in Five Star benefits your bottom line.

Competitive Pricing & Exclusive Discounts

Patronage: sharing in the cooperative’s success

At Five Star Cooperative, we have a strong history of returning patronage to our farmer-owners through cash payouts and equity distribution.

Each year, the board of directors determines the patronage rates by department and sets the method of distribution. These decisions are based on the cooperative’s success from the previous year while also accounting for upcoming investment needs.

If you have questions about patronage, please reach out to our team.
